The Seattle Times has published this interesting story on how a growing number of image-conscious hotels have begun connecting their good or bad reviews appearing on such travel sites as TripAdvisor or Yelp, with their own guest information and loyalty programs.
So, the next time a guest writing a positive review might expect a reward from the hotel — a gift basket or a discount on your next stay. Negative reviewers could get a concerned e-mail from the general manager asking to reconsider their review. Overly troublesome one's might even get into a blacklist maintained by the hotel chain.
